Weekend studio photographer

HOURS: Currently we are looking for a photographer for weekend work only. This is an exciting and varied opportunity for the right candidate who wants to progress their career as they become more involved in the business. This may lead to full time work pending on candidate's success.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?  - Candidates will be required to have a varied portfolio which shows evidence of a strong natural eye for composition, design and technical ability. You will have excellent communication and people skills.You must have some experience in a portrait studio previously as a photographer and show some editing skills.Ideally you should hold a professional qualification i.e. national diploma, HND, or degree in photography design, Photoshop and IT skills would be beneficial. We are seeking candidates who have a minimum 2 years experience as a photographer or assistant within the photographic industry.Experience with customers in a sales or retail capacity would be advantageous.This is a varied position requiring a flexible and confident individual with a 'can-do' work ethic with a 'friendly'personality. Must also have an abundance of drive and ambition with a clear ability to motivate both self and others, capable of creating a vibrant atmosphere and delivering an exciting and unique client experience.Candidates will be required to have a varied portfolio which shows evidence of a strong natural eye for composition, design and technical ability. Family Portrait photographer

What they are looking for? - We are searching for a photographer who can take family portraiture as seriously as we do. You must be well spoken and sociable, have stamina, patience, a sense of humour and most importantly an affinity with children. You must be able to accommodate demanding clients and be prepared to work mainly weekends, Saturday and Sunday and Public Holidays. We only want to see portfolios relevant to family portraiture and will ask to see the whole shoot unedited, be warned!

Photographic Assistant

Company: Firefly Photography, Derby

Salary / Payment: £6.85 p/h + commission once trained
Job Type: Part Time

Start Date: July 2012

Candidate will be required to work, on a rota basis, in a busy Derby city centre studio photographing and editing family portraiture, modelling and boudoir photography. This is a temporary post, for 16hrs a week, until 2/9/12 with possibility of it being extended until Christmas 2012.
Essential:
• Educational certificate and/or degree in photography;
• Knowledge and ability in using photoshop including editing studio photography;
• Previous customer assistance roles;
• Previous sales experience;
• Willing to work Saturdays and Sundays;
• In depth knowledge of using a MAC;
• Previous customer assistance roles;
• Previous sales experience

Desirable:
• Previous experience of admin support including face-to-face, on the phone and email;
• Aiding of promotional stands off site;
• Previous experience in hospitality and/or leisure industry
• Full drivers licence

Your role will include: The photographing of studio sessions; co-ordinating appointments; providing sales support; providing admin support, greeting customers and dealing with day-to-day enquiries by phone, email and face to face; working with the editing team in developing and maintaining a high standard of finished products; aiding with promotions both on and off site; and helping with general cleaning tasks.
